ᚠWhat taking power back really means
Birgitta Visser describes a soul empowerment coach in plain terms: someone who helps people take back control of their lives, because, she says, we give our power away so often that we do not notice. In her words, the work is about “unbecoming to becoming,” peeling back layers of pain and returning to love for yourself.
Jeremy adds that power leaks out in many places: in a relationship, or to an employer when you trade your personal value for money, which he says can be a good deal or a terrible one. Birgitta has been there herself. She calls money the drug that keeps people working to pay their bills, and says relationships can turn into a legal contract with endless clauses.
Her answer is to accept one another, stop letting the ego take the front seat and listen to your own heart. If you want company while you sort out where your energy goes, the Mindful Mutiny community offers real conversation, live Fireside Chats and a course library.
ᚢFear, ego and the habit of living on autopilot
Birgitta says most people are being lived rather than living. She believes fear holds them back, and she describes it as a smooth criminal that runs riot in the mind. Her guides, she says, keep asking whether people are afraid to live or afraid to die.
Jeremy has seen fear damage relationships when one or both people fear the world, each other or themselves. Birgitta says she helps people with it, but that they often have to work through their own trauma too. A coach or healer, in her view, is only a tool in the toolbox, and the person in front of you has the potential to heal.
Her advice is to change your thinking and look in the mirror before blaming anyone else. If fear and old patterns keep you stuck, Jeremy offers individual therapy and coaching for people who want support with exactly that.
ᚦHealing trauma: turning pain into wisdom
Jeremy asks about the role of pain in a spiritual life, noting that some of his clients feel angry with God. Birgitta answers that pain can be turned into wisdom. She calls people divine alchemists and says that staying in the blame game only leaves you drowning in your own quicksand.
She speaks from experience, describing a life marked by trauma, including a painful childhood, early losses and difficult years in the modeling industry. She says she once had no self-worth. Today she says she is thankful for what she has been through and has forgiven herself and others.
Her turning point came after a very hard stretch in 2009. A counselor told her she was strong enough to overcome it, and she went looking for something that would work for her. That led to Reiki, which she studied until she became a Reiki master, and then to many other healing modalities. Her message to anyone in that place is not to sit by the side of the road in victimhood.
ᚨBoundaries and the people around you
Birgitta says boundaries were one of her hardest lessons. She dropped many people because, as she puts it, they walked all over her like a relentless truck, and she needed to learn that she mattered too.
Work taught her the same lesson. She says she worked about 70 hours a week last year, lost weight and was out of breath before she stopped to reevaluate. Now she does her hours and is shifting toward what she loves. Jeremy describes a similar path of letting go of people whose energy no longer served him.
ᚱLight language, channeling and past lives, in her words
These are Birgitta’s personal beliefs, and she shares them as such. She explains that light language is an ancient modality, different from Reiki, in which she communicates with whoever comes through, which she says can include archangels, ascended masters and other light beings. On a conscious level it sounds like gibberish, she says, but she believes the soul understands the codes. Channeling, she explains, works the same way: she calls herself a messenger who asks a question and receives a response.
She dates her first memory of this to about age six, when a woman who looked like a school teacher with big glasses appeared to her. She also says past lives matter because people carry remnants of them. The episode does not establish whether any of this is true, and this post does not present it as fact.
Near the end, Birgitta offers Jeremy a short light language session. Afterward he described old memories opening like a flower over his head, and said he felt a little elevated and imagined himself flying as a raven over the forest where he lives. Birgitta says she saw a line of guides on either side of him and takes that as a sign he is supported.
ᚲGrounding, breathwork and meditation: simple daily practices
Asked what people can do to tap into their own light, Birgitta suggests free guided meditations on YouTube, breathwork and grounding, which can be as simple as standing barefoot on the earth.
She also describes an exercise she says takes under a minute. Close your eyes and picture yourself sitting behind your eyes, as if on a couch looking out. Travel down to the base of your spine, imagine roots or a beam of light reaching the center of the earth, and picture a crystal there. Wrap the roots around it, travel back up and let the light expand through your body. She says this keeps you in the present instead of the future or the past.
For breathing, she suggests drawing breath from the base of the spine up, not only the upper chest. Start with a count of four in, four hold, four out and four hold, and move to eight as it gets comfortable. For more everyday practices, you can read the free newsletter.
ᚷYou are here to live, not to be lived
Birgitta has written several books, including a collaboration called Become Empowered.
Her closing words are that you are not insignificant, you have purpose, and the fear, shame and regret you carry are experiences, not labels. She encourages people to try different flavors on the buffet of life, be gentle with themselves, then look in the mirror and say, “I love you.” Jeremy calls that a critical part of healing.
If her conversation has you asking what you want next, Jeremy offers a straight read on whether therapy and retreat work suits you.
Birgitta’s spiritual, channeled and energy-based views are her own beliefs, not medical advice or established fact. Plant medicines such as ayahuasca or kambo may be illegal where you live and aren't right for everyone. This episode also touches on painful personal experiences.
